A early morning drive to experience the Eygalieres farmers market from St. Remy was delightful. It was only 25 minutes by car in the peace and quiet of lovely surroundings. We came across this Canal with a little bit of fog in the air and I asked Ron to pull over so Sharon and I could take a few photographs and that we could all admire the canals simplicity and the beautiful way it blended into its surroundings, we then continued along the highway into the village of Eygalieres which was already visible ahead. The village is surrounded by the superb landscapes of the Alpilles, with olive groves, green valleys with super tastefully restored residences. The houses, wisely cling together along the small winding streets. The main street takes you up to the village Church from where you can visit the Chateau Ruin, and the old gatehouse and Saint-Laurent Church.
We wanted to see if Eygalieres was a good market and it blew away our expectations! Wow this little town sure knows how to put a market together and the stalls are so colorful and are full of temptation. I wanted to take one of everything back home with me but I knew that wasn't possible so I had to choose carefully what to bring home with me.
Ron is immersing himself into the typical Provincial goodies, how can he resist!
